Serendipity Organics

Serendipity Organics-Ever SimplicitySerendipity Organics is soft and natural Danish design made for comfort and easy wear. Natural wear means free of pesticides - good for our environment - good for our skin - good for our well being. All serendipity cotton garments are made from 100% organic certified cotton. All production is fully GOTS certified. The digital print lives up to all strict demands to organic production. All cotton garments are produced in India, from cotton fields to spinning, dyeing, weaving, knitting and stitching. Serendipity fabric qualities are carefully selected. Rib and velour are made from melange yarns which means fibers are died. This produces the softest garments imaginable with deep long lasting colors. Buttons are made of seashell, tagua nut or coconut. Hopefully your child will enjoy the extra softness of Serendipity Organics.

Standards & Quality
All Serendipity cotton styles - the majority of our collections woven and knitted - are made from 100% organic cotton yarns that are GOTS certified and our products are also GOTS certified in Full finish. This means the entire production process from cotton growth and spinning to finished production live up to the standards set forward in Global Organic Textile Standard GOTS.

Furthermore, all cotton garments are Fair Trade certified (SA 8000). Our suppliers are also in the process of obtaining Flo-Cert that guarantees fair trade in the entire production chain.

Our classic O-Wool collection is again based on 100% certified Organic Wool and 30% Silk which provide a deliciously soft quality. The wool is USDA and NASAA certified and the spinning and dying is GOTS certified.

Our soft Organic Marino wool styles are also GOTS and SA8000 certified in full finish.

The extra softness of Serendipity
Serendipity fabrics are at the basis of our design.

We create, choose and produce our fabric designs and colours to match for each collection to ensure the uniqueness of Serendipity design. Our fabric qualities are carefully selected to comply with our clear and pure line and the extra softness of Serendipity design.

Serendipity knitted garments such as our tees, leggings and velour styles are made from melange yarns, which mean fibres are died as opposed to the fabric. This produces the softest fabrics and, thus, garments imaginable. It also means that even solid coloured garments have a deep long-lasting colour.

Alpaca - a natural alternative
Baby Alpaca wool is an exclusive natural fibre and it is absolutely worth it.

The decision to work with alpaca wool is part of our continuous search to find and work with the finest qualities of natural fibres and preparing them with respect of the natural properties. Alpaca bears the unique qualities of the alpacas that live in the Andes Mountains in herds at an altitude of 3.500 m up to 5000 m above sea level. It is naturally organic.

Alpaca wool is very strong and resilient and at the same time soft and light. It is an extremely effective insulator during winter and breathes effectively to keep you cool in warmer months. Also, Alpaca wool is very allergy friendly and therefore an attractive alternative to sensitive skin because it bears no lanolin.

Trimmings
Our dedication to natural materials is of essence to us. Whenever possible we seek a natural alternative to artificial materials - also for trimmings.

All buttons we use are made from either coco nut or taugua nut.

When a natural alternative is not possible as for Zippers and push buttons we are careful to choose products that are nickel free and YKK approved.

Dying and printing
To obtain colourful and fashionable designs still with respect for nature and our skin, Serendipity employs low-impact dyes that are also GOTS certified for all cotton styles. That means employing a dye-process free of AZO colours, formaldehydes and heavy metals as well as no use of optical bleaching or chlorine. This helps keep chemicals/metals out of our soil and away from our skin. All prints on Serendipity wear are water-based and Oekotex or GOTS certified.

For our Organic Wool and Alpaca only the fibres natural colours are used and thus, no dyeing involved.

Production
All Serendipity cotton styles are produced in India, where our certified organic cotton is also grown. This means the entire production from growth of cotton and production of textiles to the finished style is produced in one area to avoid excess transportation. The entire production process from cotton growth and spinning to finished production live up to the standards set forward in Global Organic Textile Standard GOTS and SA8000 Certified. Most of our suppliers are also in the process of obtaining Flo-Cert that guarantees fair trade in the entire production chain.

Our organic O-WOOL wool + silk garments are produced in China.

Our Organic Wool is of Australian origin and garments are produced in India.

Our Baby Alpaca styles are made by local women in small collectives, where 4-5 women sit together at their homes and knit sweaters while also being able to take care of the household. The garments are semi hand knit, which means they are using knitting machines in part of the process.
