The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is the worldwide leading textile processing standard for organic fibers, including ecological and social criteria, backed up by independent certification of the entire textile supply chain.  All our organic cotton is custom-produced for Oeuf in Peru, adhering to the highest standards to protect the environment, workers, and consumers.  GOTS certified organic cotton cannot be treated with bleach, formaldehyde or other toxic substances.  Our dyes are water-based and non-toxic.  Our entire process is tightly controlled, with small and conscientious production to ensure quality and environmental safety to the highest standards.

The quality of cotton can vary greatly; for our bedding and layette we choose only premium pima cotton from Peru for its silky smooth feel and exceptional quality.   Pima cotton is a much-desired "extra-long staple" cotton, which can be woven into softer and more durable fibers than other types of cotton.  Peruvian pima cotton is considered the world’s finest, with an incomparable softness that really matters when it comes to everyday staples such as bedding and layette.  In Peru, pima cotton is hand-harvested, resulting in a higher-quality product as well as environmentally-friendly production.  Pima cotton is also hypoallergenic, so an excellent choice for babies and children.
